Sounds and Notifications

Use sound and notification settings to control your tablet's audio, alerts, and notifications.

Volume

You can adjust the volume settings to suit your needs and your environment.
Note: You can quickly adjust the volume by pressing the Volume key.
1. From home, tap
2. Tap Sounds and notifications.
3. Touch and drag the sliders to assign volume level settings for:
Notifications
Media
System

Sound Mode

You can switch between sound modes, while preserving the individual sound settings you have made.
Note: Sound modes are also available from the Device options menu. Press and hold the Power/Lock
key, and then choose Mute, Vibrate, or Sound from the Device options.
1. From home, tap
2. Tap Sounds and notifications > Sound mode, and then choose a mode:
Sound: Your tablet uses the sounds, vibrations, and volume levels you have chosen in
Sound settings for notifications and alerts.
Vibrate: Your tablet vibrates for notifications and alerts. This uses the Vibration intensity you
choose in Sound settings.
Mute: Your tablet plays no sounds or vibrations. Reminders will still occur.

Notification Ringtone

Choose a sound for notifications, such as for new messages and event reminders.
1. From home, tap
2. Tap Sounds and notifications > Notification ringtone.
3. Tap a ringtone to select it. When you tap ringtones, a sample plays.
4. Tap OK to assign the ringtone.
