Flash shooting
• Auto-flash (No indication)
The flash fires automatically in tow tight or backlight conditions
To shoot a subject with backiight, position the AF target mark over the
subject.
ORed-eye reduction flash (<_)
The Iight from the flash may make the subject's eyes appear red in the
picture. The red-eye reduction flash mode significantly reduces this
phenomenon by emitting pre-flashes before firing the regutar flash. This hetps
accustom the subject's eyes to the bright Iight and minimizes the red-eye
phenomenon.

• After the pre-flashes, it takes about 1 second before the shutter is
released Hold the camera firmty to avoid camera movement
Note • Effectiveness may be limited if the subject is not tooking directty at
the pre-flashes, or if the shooting range is too far Individual physical
characteristics may also limit effectiveness.
eFill-in flash (_)
The flash fires regardless of the avaiIable light. This mode is useful for
eliminating shadows on the subject's face (such as shadows from tree
leaves), in a backlight situation, or for correcting the color shift produced by
artificial lighting (especiatIy fluorescent tight).
• The fiIt-in flash may not have the desired effect under excessiveIy
bright light
