Voice
tags: You can dial a phone
number by saying one or more
words ('voice tags'), for example
a name, attached to it. Up to
eight phone numbers in the
phone book can have a voice tag
at the same time. You can also
listen to, change, or erase the
recorded voice tags.
To record a voice tag: Select
voice
tag, scroll to the desired
name or phone number, and press
(Add voice tag) and then
(Start). Say clearly the
word(s) you want to record as a
voice tag.
To make a call using a voice tag:
In standby mode, press and hold
(Menu). Say the desired
voice tag clearly. The phone plays
the voice tag and dials the
related phone number. If no
match for the voice tag is found
or recognised, press
say the voice tag again or
return to standby mode.
If you use the HDC-5 headset,
press and hold the headset
button until you hear a short
tone and say the voice tag
clearly.
When using voice dialling, note
the following:
• Voice tags are not language
dependent. They are
dependent on the speaker's
voice.
• Voice tags are sensitive to
background noise. Record
them and make calls in a quiet
Add
environment.
• When recording a voice tag or
making a call by saying a
voice tag, hold the phone in
the normal position near to
your ear.
• Very short names are not
accepted. Use long names and
avoid similar names for
different numbers.
• Voice tags are saved in the
phone and are removed when
you insert another SIM card
into the phone.

Note: You must say the
name exactly as you said it
when you recorded it. This
may be difficult in, for
example, a noisy
environment or during an
emergency, so you should
not rely solely upon voice
dialling in all circumstances.
