B e c a u s e o f t h e l o w c u r r e n t c o n s u m p t i o n b a t t e r i e s a r e a v e r y s u i t a b l e
p o w e r s u p p l y ; 1 2 V , 1 8 Y o r 2 4 V a r e s u i t a b l e c o m b i n a t i o n s .
Remember however that for a power of 5W f rom the amplifier the
b a t t e r y m a y h a v e t o g i v e u p t o 1 0 W , s o d o n ' t e x p e c t t o o m u c h f r o m
a s m a l l b a t t e r y . T h e b a t t e r y s h o u l d b e a b l e t o s u p p l y t h e c u r r e n t
i n d i c a t e d a b o v e .
For battery operation the capacitor shown as C3 in D5 must be
i n c l u d e d b u t i t s v a l u e s h o u l d b e i n c r e a s e d . 1 0 0 0 p F i s t o b e c o n s i d e r e d
t h e m i n i m u m v a l u e b u t l a r g e r v a l u e s ( 5 , 0 0 0 r r F o r 1 0 , 0 0 0 p F ) a r e
