Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I press the power button on the remote:
• Make sure the power supply is properly connected, both to the wall outlet and to the Control Hub. If the LED
on the Control Hub flashed white when you connected the power supply for the first time the power to the
Control Hub is OK.
• Make sure the batteries in the remote control is placed at the right polarity according to the marking on the
battery holder.
• Make sure the batteries in the remote control is fresh.
• Make sure the remote control protection film is removed.
• Make sure the remote control is properly assembled after batteries installed. The plastic alignment tab of the
housing should be fit into the alignment hole of the circuit board. The acrylic glass faceplate should be flush
with the plastic housing.
•
Lay the remote control on a table and don't touch it for 20 sek. This lets the touch buttons re-calibrate if for
some reason a button has been improperly calibrated.
• If the system has been unused for a longer time you will need to press and hold the power button for a longer
time (at lease 2 sek) to make it start. This is due to the remote controls built in low power sleep mode used to
extend its battery life.
•
If nothing of the above helps, please go through the Remote Control Pairing Guide available on
www.opalum.com/docs/pairing_guide.pdf.
The Control Hub is reacting to remote control commands, but the remote control is behaving strangely:
• Make sure the remote control protection film is removed.
• Make sure the batteries in the remote control is fresh.
• Strange behavior may happen if the remote controls touch buttons are improperly calibrated. Make sure the
remote control is properly assembled after batteries installed. The plastic alignment tab of the housing
should be fit into the alignment hole of the circuit board. The acrylic glass faceplate should be flush with the
plastic housing. Lay the remote control on a table and don't touch it for 20 sek. This lets the touch buttons re-
calibrate.
• Try using the remote control closer to the Control Hub. If this helps the distance might be too long.
• If the system has been unused for a longer time you will need to press and hold the button for a longer time
(at lease 2 sek). This is due to the remote controls built in low power sleep mode used to extend its battery
life.
The Control Hub status LED is flashing red:
This is due to a short circuit somewhere in the speaker chain.
• Look at all your speaker terminals, both on Control Hub and speakers. Make sure that both poles are not
touching each other. Also make sure that the metal housing of Flow series speakers or RCA connectors of
Control Hub is not touching any speaker cable.
• Make sure the speakers are connected according to the user guide.
• Turn the system off using the remote control and disconnect all speaker cables from the Control Hub. Turn
the system on using the remote control. If the Control Hub is still flashing red the short circuit is inside the
box. This is highly unlikely and in this case you may contact your Opalum dealer.
• Try connect only one speaker at a time. If only one of the speakers produces this error then a short circuit
may be inside that speaker. Please contact your Opalum dealer.
