"Open Cable" – A lack of continuity between the pins at each end of the
twisted pair cable exists, i.e. the cable pair is not connected correctly.
"Impedance Mismatch" – The impedance on the cable pair is not correct.
Possible reasons for impedance mismatch are a not properly connected cable
pair, a damaged cable pair, a faulty connector, a remote system that is down.
"Test failed" – The test of the cable pair was not successful.
"DSP Data" – DSP Data in the status field is only displayed if a link is up.
In this case the field "Link Status" displays the speed of the link, e.g. 10,
100, or 1000 Mbps. (If no link is up, "no link" is displayed.)
"Not present" – Cable pair is not present. This applies for network adapters
which can only run with speeds of 10 and 100 Mbps and therefore don't use
all cable pairs.

Diagnostics and Checking Communications

Included on the CD-ROM is a "Diagnostics Utility for D-Link DGE-560T"
(running on DOS). It is a diagnostic program that will help you determine if
any faults exist in your D-Link DGE-560T network adapter or connection.
1.
Restart your computer in MS-DOS mode.
2.
Insert the CD-ROM that came with your D-Link DGE-560T Gigabit PCI Express
Ethernet Adapter into your CD-ROM drive (e.g. D:\).
3.
Go to the directory "Drivers\Diag\DOS".
4.
Type "yukondg" at the MS-DOS prompt and press "Enter" to start the D-Link
Diagnostics Utility.
5.
From the main menu of the diagnostic program, select one of the following:
"Diagnostics" for the simple test (no loopback),
"Loopb. Wrap Plug" for a loopback test or
"Loopb. ext. Repeater" for a loopback repeater test.
The various components will then be tested; this will take between one and two
minutes. You can follow the progress of the test in the right-hand window. Each
test is displayed as it is being performed.
If the test was successful, the word "passed" is issued at the end of the line and
the next test is started. If there is a problem, the word "failed" is issued.
6.
If errors are reported, follow the instructions that are displayed.
If you encounter any problems, please contact D-Link Technical Support.
