TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Burner will not light using
ignitor
Burner will not light with
match
Possible Cause
1. LP gas tank valve is closed
2. LP gas tank is low or empty
3. LP gas leak
4. Battery needs to be changed
5. Electrode and burners are wet
6. Electrode cracked or broken
7. Wire loose or disconnected
8. Wire is shorting (sparking) between
ignitor and electrode
9. Bad ignitor
1. No gas flow
2. LP gas tank is low or empty
3. LP gas leak
4. Coupling nut and regulator not fully
connected
5. Obstruction of gas flow
6. Disengagement of burner to valve
7. Spider webs or insect nest in burner/
venturi tube
8. Burner ports clogged or blocked
Corrective Action
1. Make sure regulator is securely attached
to the LP gas tank per "Connecting LP Gas
Tank" section on page 12, then turn LP gas
tank valve to "OPEN"
2. Exchange, refill or replace LP gas tank
3a. Turn LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED"
3b. Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear
3c. Follow "Checking for Leaks" section on
page 13
4. Replace the "AA" battery (follow assembly
step for inserting battery)
5. Wipe dry with cloth
6. Contact customer service
7. Contact customer service
8. Contact customer service
9. Contact customer service
1. Check if LP gas tank is empty
i.
If empty exchange, refill or replace
ii. If LP gas tank is not empty, refer to
"Sudden drop in gas flow or reduced
flame height"
2. Exchange, refill or replace LP gas tank
3a. Turn LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED"
3b. Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear
3c. Follow "Checking for Leaks" section on
page 13
4. Turn the coupling nut about one-half to
three-quarter additional turn until solid stop.
Tighten by hand only - do NOT use tools.
5a. Clear burner/venturi tube
5b. Check for bent or kinked hose
6. Re-engage burner and valve
7. Clean burner/venturi tube
8. Clean burner ports
