PREFACE
This manual applies t o VMC95L and VMC110L t elescopes. You may occasionally find descript ions in t he t ext not relevant t o
your part icular model.
Read instructions for a mounting of telescope along with this manual when you purchased the telescope as a complete package.
WARNING!
Never look directly at the sun with the telescope or its finder or guide scope.
Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result.
CAUTION
Do not leave the optical tube uncapped in the daytime. Sunlight passing through the telescope or finder scope may cause a fire.
Do not use the product while moving or walking, injuries could result from a collision with objects or from stumbling or falling.
Keep small caps, plast ic bags, or plast ic packing mat erials away from children. These may cause a danger of swallowing
or suffocat ion.
Do not use the product in a wet environment and do not handle with wet hands.
HANDLING AND STORAGE
Do not leave the product inside a car in bright sunshine, or in other hot places. Keep any strong heat sources away from the product.
When cleaning, do not use solvent s such as paint t hinner or similar product s.
Do not expose t he product t o rain, wat er, dirt or sand.
Avoid touching any lens or mirror surfaces directly with your hands. In case a lens or mirror becomes dirty with fingerprints or general
smears, gently wipe it using a commercially available lens cleaner and a lens cleaning paper or cloth, or consult your local Vixen dealer.
Blow off dust on lenses using a commercially available blower brush. Do not use compressed air.
For st orage, keep t he product in a dry place and do not expose t o direct sunligh t .
SETTING UP THE TELESCOP
Attaching the Telescope to your Mount
Loosen bot h t he dovet ail-plat e lock screw and safet y screw unt il t he t ips of t hese screws no longer
ext ended int o t he inner part of t he dovet ail block. Slide t he dovet ail-mount ed scope int o t he dovet ail
mount ing block of t he mount and t ight en t he
dovet ail lock screw (cent ered on t he not ch)
ont o t he dovet ail t ube plat e unt il snug.
First tighten the dovetail lock screw, and then
t ight en t he small chrome safet y screw ont o
t he dovet ail mount ing block unt il snug.
Change the position of the dovetail tube pate
on the VMC95L or VMC110L optical tube with
the supplied Allen wrench if you attach it onto a
Vixen mount other than the SKYPOD and PORTA.
1. Remove t he dovet ail t ube plat e from t he
optical tube.
2. Attach the dovetail tube plate to the bottom
of the optical tube as shown in the figure.
3. Loosen both t he dovetail-plat e lock screw
and safet y screw unt il t he t ips of t hese
screws no longer ext ended int o t he inner
part of the dovetail block. Slide the dovetail-
mounted scope into the dovetail mounting
block of the mount and tighten the dovetail
lock screw (centered on the notch) onto the
dovetail tube plate until snug.
