Using LINC Features

Note: Some LINC features require a

Your phone can send and receive the following
items through InstantLINC Mobile to Mobile calls
with other phones that have this capability:
• short text messages*
• Datebook events
• pictures*
• My Info
• contact information
* Additional charges may apply.
You can choose to send My Info and contact
information to any LINC ID.
You can choose to send pictures, messages,
events to the LINC ID you are engaged in an
InstantLINC Mobile to Mobile with, LINC IDs on the
recent calls list, and LINC IDs stored in Contacts.

When you make or receive an InstantLINC Mobile
to Mobile call, your phone automatically
determines whether the phone you are in an
InstantLINC Mobile to Mobile with is able to receive
each of these items. Your phone saves this
information for as long as the LINC ID is on your
recent calls list or is saved in your Contacts. Your
phone updates the saved information each time
you make or receive a call to or from that LINC ID.
You can turn your phone's ability to send and
receive messages, pictures, events on and off. See
"Turning LINC Features On and Off" on page 125.
You cannot send LINC feature items during
Talkgroup calls.

LINC Feature Icons

When you are in an InstantLINC Mobile to Mobile
call, icons appear on your phone's display
indicating which types of LINC feature items you
can send and receive. These icon also indicate
when you have received a LINC feature item of
each type.
