    INTRODUCTION: Ashton is designed in Australia by a team of industry experts that have years of experience in the development, design and production of musical instruments and equipment.     Do not use adapters other than what is specified. The technical specifications for the power adapter on the Ashton EDP420 is 12V DC. USING BATTERIES: 1. Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the unit.

    OPERATION: The following pages entail a detailed guide on how to use all functions of your Ashton EDP420, please refer to the rear/top panel descriptions on the previous pages to locate the buttons that each description is referring to. SELECT A DRUM KIT:...

    OPERATION: SET A PAD VOLUME: Press the (VOLUME) button once to enter the PAD ASSIGN (VOLUME) menu. The corre- sponding menu indicator should light up. To assign a volume to a pad, select a pad by either pressing the (PAD) button to search through all 7 pads or by hitting the pad you wish to assign a voice to.

    (SAVE) button again. The EDP420 should quit to the kit menu and be set to the current kit if you have successfully saved the kit. Please note that an unsaved user kit will be lost if you change the kit.

    OPERATION TEMPO: Press any of the (TEMPO +/-) buttons to enter the tempo menu. Use either button to make the tempo faster or slower respectively (30 - 280BPM). Pressing both buttons together will set the tempo to the current song default. METRONOME: The metronome will automatically engage when a song is playing but with only the indicator flashing.

    EDP420. USB JACK: The EDP420 will output all the MIDI information generated by hitting the pads or stepping on the pedal via the MIDI output connector. It can also receive MIDI data from an external device.
