    ABOUT THE HTR L53 SYSTEM REMOTE CONTROL Packed with your L53 is the NAD HTR L53 remote control, a full-system remote especially designed to be easy to use and easy to understand. Be sure to read the section “Using the HTR L53 Remote Control,” to familiarize yourself with the remote’s layout and operations before proceeding to setup your receiver.

    ABOUT THE ON-SCREEN DISPLAYS (OSD) AND FRONT-PANEL READOUT The L53 receiver employs a self-explanatory on-screen display “menu” for the internal DVD player. This “menu” will appear on the connected video monitor/TV and is required during the setup process (useful in day-to-day operation); so be sure to connect the monitor/TV before proceeding with setup.

    • If you insert a SVCD videodisc, the PBC symbol (Play Back Control) will appear in the L53’s display and OSD. The “TITLE” button on the HTR L53 will toggle on and off PBC. • After playing back all of the chapters in the title, L53’s DVD player automatically stops and returns to the menu screen.

    TITLE AND MENU BUTTONS Both these buttons are only found on the HTR L53. Both “TITLE” and “MENU” buttons are used to display via OSD, the title headings and menus of the DVD and MP3 CD media when available. Some movie discs may contain two or more titles. If the disc has a title menu recorded on it, the “TITLE” button can be used to select the movie title.

The first time you input a password, use the factory default password 1234.
