GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1-1 DESCRIPTION
The

Model 460B is a wide band distributed amplifier especially
designed to amplify high speed pulses to high voltage levels with
negligible overshoot.
The output voltage is sufficiently high to
drive the deflection plates of a cathode ray-tube.

tubes by designing the amplifier p r i m a r i l y to amplify pulses of a
single polarity.

A phase inversion occurs within the amplifier s o that a pos-
itive pulse applied to the input will be a negative pulse a t the out-
put.
However, either upward o r downward deflections of the CRT
is possible, since either the upper o r lower deflection plate may
be connected to the ground terminal of the Model 46OB.
Thus the Model 460B amplifies positive pulses

This instrument is normally supplied with the power t r a n s f o r m e r
connected for 115 volt operation, unless otherwise specified on the
order.
