Mounting Bracket Installation - Vertex Standard VX-5500 Operating Manual

When installing the VX-5500 transceiver, make sure to plan the installation carefully
and leave additional room in the rear of the radio for cabling and accessory connec-
tions; in the front of the radio for access, controls, and cabling; and to the sides of the
radio so that you may access and install the Hex Head Bolts.

Mounting Bracket Installation

The supplied mounting bracket allows desktop or overhead mounting.
r Use a 7/32 inch (5.5 mm) bit to drill the holes to a surface which is more 0.4 inch (10
mm) thick and can support more than 6.6 lbs (3 kg) and secure the bracket with the
supplied screws, spring washers, flat washers, and nuts.
You may secure the bracket using the supplied tapping screws, instead of the screws
and nuts. In this case, drill the small pilot holes instead of the 7/32 inch (5.5 mm)
holes.
r Install the transceiver to the bracket using the supplied Hex Head Bolts.
Use only the supplied Hex Head Bolts or equivalent size screws
(HSM4X8B).
