Problem
During data
communication, no data
was transmitted, or
transmitted data was
incomplete.
No sound is audible.
Terminal turns itself off.
Tapping the window
buttons or icons does not
activate the corresponding
feature.
Cause
Terminal removed from
cradle or unplugged
from host PC during
communication.
Incorrect cable
configuration.
Communication
software was incorrectly
installed or configured.
Volume setting is low or
turned off.
Terminal is inactive.
Battery is depleted.
Battery cover is
removed.
LCD screen not aligned
correctly.
The system is hung.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Solution
Replace the terminal in the cradle, or
replace the Synchronization cable, and re-
transmit.
See your System Administrator.
Perform setup. See
Chapter 4,
Communication
for details.
Check the volume slider in the Volume &
Sound properties dialog box in the Control
Panel to ensure the volume is not turned
down.
Your terminal turns off after a period of
inactivity. If the terminal is running on battery
power, this period can be set from 1 to 5
minutes, in one-minute intervals. If the
terminal is running on external power, this
period can be set to 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, and 30
minutes.
Check the Power dialog box (in the Control
Panel), and change the setting if you need a
longer delay before the automatic shutoff
feature activates.
Replace the battery.
Replace the battery cover.
