Changing the Focus Setting

You can change default camera operation of constantly focusing on
subjects it is aimed at, even when the shutter button is not pressed.
Instead, you can limit camera focusing to the moment you press the
shutter button halfway.
Press the [
[Continuous AF] on the [
then choose [Off] ( = 32).
Helps avoid missing sudden photo opportunities, because

the camera constantly focuses on subjects until you press
the shutter button halfway.
Conserves battery power, because the camera does not

focus constantly. However, this may delay focusing.
Fine-Tuning the Focus

Fine-tune autofocusing with an EF-M lens attached by turning the focusing
ring.

Configure the setting.
Press the [
] button, choose [Focus
mode] on the [
2] tab, and then choose
[AF+MF] ( = 32).

Focus.
Press the shutter button halfway to focus
on the subject, and continue holding the
button halfway down.

Fine-tune the focus.
Turn the focusing ring on the lens to
adjust the focus.
[MF] blinks on the screen.
To cancel focusing, release the shutter
button.

Shoot.
Press the shutter button all the way down
to shoot.
Cannot be used with Servo AF ( = 73).
Not available with lenses other than EF-M lenses.
