    Use and Care Use and Care To care for your Motorola phone, please keep it away from: liquids of any kind Don’t expose your phone to water, rain, extreme humidity, sweat, or other moisture.     install the battery Tip: To open the battery door, first open the headset and USB port doors. Remove the battery door by pressing down on the door and sliding it down a little. Then, lift it off. Insert the battery by aligning the metal contacts, then press it into place.

    handsfree speaker You can use your phone’s handsfree speaker to make calls without holding the phone to your ear. The handsfree speaker stays on until you press and hold the Speakerphone key again with the flip open or turn off the phone. Note: The handsfree speaker won’t work when your phone is connected to a handsfree car kit or headset.

    select entry mode Multiple entry modes make it easy for you to enter names, numbers, and messages. The default mode is Abc (tap mode, first character of a sentence in uppercase). Tip: Ready to try it? For more about editing contacts, see page 72.

    Abc (tap) mode This is the standard mode for entering text on your phone. This mode cycles through the letters, numbers, and symbols of the key you press.
