How to use the Kettle:
-
1. Make sure you have read and understood the section on general safety before
continuing.
2. Before you use for the first time, fill water up to maximum and boil. Then discard the
boiled water, let the kettle cool, rinse it thoroughly.
Repeat this three times to remove
any dust, etc.
3. The kettle is designed to use throughout the world. This has been achieved by using
twin heating elements. One to operate at 11 O/120v and the other to operate at
220/240v. The underside of the kettle contains a voltage selector which needs to be
turned to the correct voltage for the country/region
one is in. To do this, insert a
screwdriver
into the selector and rotate the arrow to the correct voltage.
4. Fill in the required amount of water ensuring the water is above the "Min" mark but not
above the "Max" mark.
Warning: If the water is over filled, there is
a
risk that boiling water may be ejected
and the performance
of the kettle may be adversely affected.
5. Do not tilt the kettle backwards when filling or carrying.
6. Ensure the kettle lid is closed when filled before plugging the kettle power cord into the
power socket. If the lid is not in position, the kettle will not automatically
switch off and
hot water will spill out of the kettle.
7. Once the kettle is plugged into the power socket, press the power on switch "Reset".
The neon light will illuminate to indicate that the kettle is connected and has started to
heat up.
8. When the water boils, the kettle will switch itself off and the neon light will go out.
9. Unplug the kettle from the power socket before pouring.
1O.Pour the boiled water slowly to avoid the risk of splashing.
11. To reuse after boiling, ernpty the kettle to allow it to cool slightly.
Note: If hot water is left in the kettle this will prevent the thermostat from setting. If you
want to switch the kettle off before the water boils, sirnply unplug it. This will not affect
the performance of the kettle .
. Water Scale and removal:
1. There may be a case that the water inside the kettle appears cloudy or greasy when
boiling. This is caused by calcium carbonate: a harrnless naturally occurring rnineral
within the water and may become apparent when water is boiled.
2. To minimize the scale build up, empty the kettle and rinse it thoroughly after each use
and never leave the water in the kettle over night.
3. It is suggested to remove the scale by boiling water with a mixture of white vinegar
and leave it over night and then rinse the kettle thoroughly.
