OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
AM/ FM RECEPTION
1. Push the TUNER button. Confirm that on ly the TUNER
indicator turn s yellow.
2 . Set the SELECTOR switch to AM or FM.
3 . Turn the TUNING knob to place the tuning pointer at the
desired frequency. The SIGNAL lamps indicate the level
of the incom ing signal. With weak signals. on ly the LOW
lamp wi ll light. both the LOW and HI GH lamps will light
with strong signals.
4 . In the FM mode. the STERE O indicator wi ll light when
the FM M ODE switch is set to AUTO and a stereo broad-
cast is strong enough to overco me m uting.
5. Adjust VO LUME and tone for your preference.
Abnormal Condition on FM Reception
6. In cases where the desired signal is exceptionally weak.
a high frequ ency noise (hiss) may acco mpany stereo
broadcasts. In such case better resu lts may be obtamed
by setting the FM MODE switch to MONO.
TURNTABLE
1. Push the PHONO button. Confirm that only the PHO NO
indicator turns ye llow.
2 . Operate the tu rntable.
3 . Adjust VOLUME and tone for you r preference.
TAPE B PLAY/ AUX
1. Push the TAPE B PLAY

AUX button .
2 Operate t he co mponent (tape deck. TV etc.) connected
to the TAPE B PLAY

AUX jacks.
3 . Adju st VOLUME and tone for you r preference.
TAPE DECKS
Playback
1. Push the TAPE A or TAPE B PLAYIAUX button to select
input from a tape deck connected to the TAPE A or TAPE
B PLAY

AUX jacks.
2. Operate the tape deck.
3. Adjust VOLUME and tone for your preference.
Recording
1. Push the PHONO. TUN ER or TAPE B PLAYIAUX button
to select the desired program source.
2 . Set up the progra m so urce component for ope ration and
set up yo ur tape deck connected to the TAPE A jac ks for
record ing.
3 . Set
with the controls o n you r tape deck.
4. To monitor the recording. push the TAPE A button. The
volume and tone control s on the receiver do not affect
the sig nal recorded .
Note: ------------------------------------------
The tape deck connected to the TAPE B PLAY/AUX tacks can only
be used for playback.
Monitoring
If the tape deck connected to the TAPE A jacks is
equipped with three heads. you can compare the sound
qualitY of recording in progress with that of the source
material by pushing the TAPE A button whil e the recordi ng is
being made.

Tape-to-Tape Dubbing
1. Push the TAPE B PLAY/A UX button.
2. Set the tape deck connected to the TA PE A jac ks in the
recording mode and opera te the tape deck co nnected to
the TAPE B PLAY/ AUX jacks simul taneously.
3 . Set recording levels on the deck w hich is being used for
record ing using tha t deck's operating contro ls.
4 . To monnor the recording. push the TAPE A button . The
vo lu me and tone controls on the receiver do not affect
the signal reco rded

Dubbing is only possible from a tape deck connected
