UNPACKING
• C arefully unpack the unit and remove all packing. If there is any damage, please return your unit to your nearest store for
replacement. Remember to take your purchase receipt with you.
• Retain the User Guide. If you pass the unit on to a third party, make sure you pass on the user guide.
• We suggest you retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so having regard to any recycling regulations in your area.
SET UP
This unit is designed to operate on an AC120/60Hz power supply. If you wish to back up the settings in case of power failure
a 9V battery, type 6F22, will be needed. This battery is not supplied.
• Place the unit on a stable surface away from heat and water sources.
• Unwrap the FM antenna cable and extend it fully.
• Uncoil the power cable fully.
• Insert the power plug into the wall socket and switch the power on.
• Your unit is now ready for use.
NOTE: Never allow a battery to become fully exhausted — replace it periodically. Dispose of a used battery according to all
recycling regulations in your area. Never throw a used battery into the general rubbish, or a fire.
RADIO OPERATION
• To turn the radio on, slide the AUTO OFF/ON (11) to the "ON" position.
• Slide the AM/FM Switch (13) to FM or AM.
• Turn the Volume Control (14) to the right to increase and to the left to decrease the volume level.
• Turn the TUNING button (12) to the frequency of the desired station. The dial scale indicates the frequency.
• To turn the radio off, slide the AUTO OFF/ON (11) to the "OFF" position.
CLOCK SETTING
• To set the hours, hold the Time Button (2) down and press the Hours Button (5) until the desired hour is displayed on the
Display (10). Release both buttons.
• The clock is a 12 hour clock; e.g. 18:00 hours are entered as 6 pm and the PM indicator will light up.
• To set the minutes, hold the Time Button (2) down, press the Minutes Button (6) until the correct time appears on the
Display (10). Release both buttons.
WAKE TO RADIO OR BUZZER
Alarm Duration—Buzzer alarm or Radio alarm will continue output for 120 minutes if no button is pressed, then it will stop
automatically and wait for same alarm time on next day.
• Select the desired radio station and volume level.
• Hold the Alarm Button (3) down and press the Hours Button (5) to set the desired alarm hour. Now hold the Alarm Button
(3) and press the Minutes Button (6) to select your desired minute setting.
• Slide the AUTO OFF/ON (11) to the "AUTO" position. The radio will switch on to wake you up at the preset time.
• If you wish to awake to a buzzer instead of the radio, turn the Volume Control (14) down until it switches off. This will
activate the buzzer alarm.
• To turn the radio or buzzer off, slide the AUTO OFF/ON (11) to the "OFF" position or press the
Alarm Button (3).
SNOOZE REPEAT ALARM
• When the buzzer sounds or the radio turns on, pressing the Snooze Button (4) will turn off the buzzer or radio temporarily.
Approximately 9 minutes later, the buzzer or radio will turn on again.
• To manually cancel the snooze operation, slide the AUTO OFF/ON (11) to the "OFF" position or press the Alarm Button (3).
SLEEP TO RADIO
• Select the desired radio station.
• Slide the AUTO OFF/ON (11) to the "AUTO" or "OFF" position.
• Press the Sleep Button (1). The clock display will show 59 minutes as the default sleep period. The sleep period can be
reduced as desired by pressing the Minutes Button (6) while holding the Sleep Button (1) down.
• The sleep period can be manually set up to a maximum of 1 hour 59 minutes by pressing the Hours Button (5) once while
holding down the Sleep Button (1). The radio will play for the desired period and then turn itself off automatically.
• To turn the radio off prior to the end of the preset sleep period, simply press the Snooze Button (4) once.
SLEEP AND WAKE TO RADIO
• To wake to radio from sleep mode, press the sleep button (1)
BACKING UP YOUR SETTINGS
Unplugging the Clock Radio, even temporarily will clear all time and alarm settings. To back up the settings, you will need a
9V battery, type 6F22 or equivalent (PP3).
If you wish to back up your settings, do so before you set up your Clock Radio and with the power core unplugged.
• Invert the unit. Press down lightly on the back of the battery compartment cover and slide it off.
• Push the battery clip onto the battery (it will fit only one way). Refit the cover.
ANTENNA TOPICS
Your Alarm Clock Radio has a built-in antenna for the AM radio band and its reception is directional. Therefore, changing the
orientation of the radio may improve the reception.
The FM antenna is a flexible wire on the back of the unit, and it should be extended to its full length and positioned for
best reception.
CARE AND CLEANING
All care and cleaning operations should be carried out with the unit unplugged and unpowered.
The surface of the unit can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and then dried carefully. Do not use liquids to clean the unit
as these may penetrate the case and lead to a malfunction. Do not use chemical solvents or abrasives as these will disfigure
the surface finish.
