If vou stop a program in mid-execution, vou will get a message telling vou
where in the program vou stopped. "Where" becomes a number which identifies
the last BASIC statement that was executed. This mav be illustrated as follows:

The STOP kev does nothing if there is nothing to stop, i.e.. the PET is
READY.
RUN is the shifted half of the RUN/STOP kev. RUN causes the next pro-
gram on the cassette unit to be located. loaded into memory. and then im-
mediately executed. The displav below shows what

will see if vou "RUN"
the small program illustrated above.
