GRAPHies
The PET graphie eharaeter set eonsists of 64 graphie symbols. Graphies
are available on ail PET models. On the CBM. select graphies by issuing a
POKE 59468.12.
The graphie eharaeters are ail loeated in the upper case positions on the
keys. so they must be entered in shifted mode. On the full size keyboard. the
SHIFT LOCK key may be engaged to remain in "graphie mode" until vou release
the SHIFT LOCK.
Graphie symbols are entered ante the sereen in either ealeulator mode or
program mode.
Many graphie eharaeters are refereneed and illustrated on the following
pages. Refer to Table 2-2 for easy referenee to graphie eharaeter keys. names. and
symbols.
GRAPHICS IN CALCULATOR MODE
Sketehing in ealeulator. or immediate. mode requires no line numbers.
no PRINT statements. and no quotation marks. In ealeulator mode. the eursor
may be moved freely up. down. right. or left to any spot on the sereen without
pressing the RETURN key after eaeh direetional change. Below is an example of a
square drawn in ealeulator mode. Starting with the eursor in home position. the
square was drawn left to right. top to bottom. right to left. and bottom to top. in
one eontinuous movement. No line numbers. program statements. or line returns
were needed.
