HANDSET BATTERY INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Use only the Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery type included with this unit. Use of other
battery types may cause injuries or damage.
1.
Remove the battery compartment cover of the handset.
2.
Connect the rechargeable Ni-Cd battery as shown on Figure 10.

Insert the Ni-Cd battery into the battery compartment of the handset.
4.
Slide the battery compartment cover firmly in its closed position.

INITIAL SETUP

Before you can use your cordless telephone, the handset must be charged for at least 14
hours. See charging instruction in the MAXIMIZING BATTERY LIFE section of this manual.
TONE / PULSE SETTING
Select the appropriate dialing service by moving the T / P
(Tone / Pulse) switch on the bottom of the base unit:

(T) TONE for Tone service, or
• • • • •
(P) PULSE for Rotary service.
RINGER ON / OFF SETTING
NOTE: Default mode is ringer on mode. RING OFF LED indicator is off.
1.
Press and hold RING button for about 2 seconds to set ringer off mode. RING OFF
LED indicator is on.
2.
In ringer off mode, press and hold RING button for about 2 seconds to set ringer on
mode. RING OFF LED indicator is off.

TELEPHONE OPERATION

TO PLACE A CALL
1.
Press the TALK button on the handset. The handset IN USE LED indicator will flash
while the unit auto-scans and will light steadily when it finds a clear channel. A confir-
mation tone is heard once there is a link between the base and handset. The base IN
USE LED indicator will also light steadily when the handset is in use.
2.
Listen for a dial tone.
3.
Dial the telephone number.
4.
When finished with your call, press the TALK button or place the handset on the base
unit. The base IN USE LED indicator will turn off.
