    Lucent To fully access all the features of your 4U40 cord-free headset, please read this User's Guide thoroughly. The 4U40 cord-free headset combines a unique headset and a pocket-sized remote with all the features of a traditional cordless phone for superior hands-free communication.

    (e.g., in a kithcen or bathroom). The Base Unit of the 4U40 may be placed on a desk or tabletop near a standard 120V AC outlet and a telephone line jack, mounted on a standard wall plate or mounted directly on the wall.

    3. Connect one end of the telephone line to the TEL LINE jack at the back of the Base Unit. 4. Raise the Base Unit's antenna. 5. Plug the other end of the 4U40 cord-free headset line into the telephone wall jack.

Insert the AC Adapter cord into the jack at the back of the Base Unit and plug the AC Adapter into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.

If you select a memory location that does not have a stored number, the Remote will beep rapidly and no number will be dialed.
