8.4 Operating System

The R320a/R320b VMware models support VMware vSphere 5. For installation, please download the
vSphere 5 from VMware website.

VMware vSphere 5 Essentials for 3 hosts
ESX license for up to 3 Physical servers (Max 2 CPUs each) and VMware
vCenter Server license for 3 ESX servers.


To use vSphere 5 Update 1, please confirm the ft control software version. If the version is 4.0.0,
contact your sales representative to get the latest version. Version 4.0.1 or later is required for vSpher
5 Update 1.

vSphere 5 Update 2 is not supported on NEC Express5800/ft series at the moment. Please do not
install vSphere 5 Update 2.

There is a limitation on vRAM capacity on VMware vSphere 5 licensing. Refer to the
for the VMware vSphere Licensing.
