Install Main Distribution Frame
(MDF) and External Modem

Install the MDF

CAUTION:
The optional MDF is a special 110 cross-connect field and is smaller than
CAUTION:
standard 110 cross-connect hardware. Do not install standard 110 hardware
inside the right panel.
Note:
The depth of any equipment installed inside the right panel must not exceed 2.5
Note:

The optional MDF represents the trunk/auxiliary field.
1. Mount the optional MDF to the right panel using one of the following:

Bottom-mounted MDF with Modem

To install a bottom-mounted MDF with a modem:
1. On the rear of the MDF, cut the cable tie securing the top 5 cables to the MDF mounting
frame.
2. Mount the MDF to the right panel. See

3. Secure all 10 cables to the bottom left bracket on the MDF with a cable tie.
