Variations of Buttonholes
There are three different types of buttonhole available.
Square Buttonhole (#16)
This square buttonhole is widely used on medium to
heavy weight fabrics. The buttonhole size is automati-
cally determined by placing a button in the foot.
Round-end Buttonhole (#17)
This buttonhole is used on fine to medium weight
fabrics especially for blouses and children's clothes.
Fine Fabric Buttonhole (#18)
This buttonhole is rounded at both ends and is used
on fine, delicate fabrics such as fine silk.
Keyhole Buttonhole (#19)
The Keyhole Buttonhole is widely used on medium to
heavy weight fabrics. It is also suitable for large and
thick buttons.
Round Keyhole Buttonhole (#20)
A variation of the classic buttonhole.
Stretch Buttonhole (#21)
This buttonhole can be used on stretch fabrics. It can
also be used as a decorative buttonhole.
Knit Buttonhole (#22)
This buttonhole is suitable for knit fabrics. It can be
used as a decorative buttonhole.
Faux Chain Buttonhole (#23)
Resembles a "Hand Worked" buttonhole. Ideal on fine
fabrics featured in Heirloom sewing or for couture
fashions.
Welted Buttonhole (#24)
Made through the garment and interfacing before the
facing is applied, resulting in finished fabric edges,
giving a custom-tailored touch. Often found on gar-
ments made from natural fibers.

NOTES:
• The size of buttonhole is automatically set by
placing the button in the rear of the automatic
buttonhole foot R.
• The button holder of the foot takes a button size up
to 2.5 cm (1") in diameter.
• Make a test buttonhole on a scrap fabrics of the
actual garment.
• Use the interfacing on the stretch fabrics.
