TRACTION DRIVE BELT

REPLACEMENT
(Figure 35)
NOTICE: Replacement will be easier with
housing and frame tipped apart and bottom
cover off.
1. Remove attachment drive belts (see
Remove old attachment drive belts on
page 34).
2. Remove hairpin attaching traction cable
to the idler arm, and disconnect the
cable. (Figure 35).

3. Pull idler away from traction drive belt
and remove belt from stationary idler
pulley, engine sheave and transmission
pulley. (It may be necessary to turn
engine pulley using recoil handle.)
4. Install new traction drive belt onto
transmission pulley, stationary idler
pulley and engine sheave.
5. Connect traction cable to idler arm and
secure connection with hairpin.
6. Replace attachment drive belts (see
Install new attachment drive belts on
page 34).
TRACK TENSION ADJUSTMENT

(Figures 36 and 37)
Check the track tension by applying pressure
on the track midway between the upper and
rear track rollers. Deflection should be
approximately 9,6 mm (Figure 36).
If deflection is excessive, tighten the track
tension.

If unit pulls to the left or right when a straight
path is desired adjust the track tension. If the
unit is pulling to the left, tighten the left track
adjuster. If the unit is pulling to the right,
tighten the right track adjuster.

To adjust (Figure 37):
1. Tighten the adjuster nut to tighten the
track tension.
Loosen the adjuster nut to reduce track
tension.
2. Check that unit tracks straight with no
pulling to either side.

1. Make sure that height adjustment lock
finger is fully engaged.
2. Loosen jam nut on cable adjustment
barrel.
