Message Center

Your Impala is equipped with a Message
Center in the instrument panel that
keeps you informed of key vehicle main-
tenance and safety information.
While your Owner Manual provides a
complete list of the possible warning
messages, below are examples of some
of the messages you may see.
HOT COOLANT TEMP: Appears when
the cooling system temperature
becomes abnormally hot. A chime will
sound continuously also.
DOOR AJAR: Appears if any of the
vehicle's doors are not completely
closed and the ignition is on.
HIGHBEAM OUT: Appears if a problem
with the headlamps occurs. The mes-
sage will remain on for approximately
60 seconds. When the ignition is turned
off, the message will stay on for three
seconds to remind you of the problem.
See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Driver Information Center (DIC)

If equipped, the DIC provides valuable
information about your vehicle and its
surroundings. The DIC is located in the
headliner between the sun visors.
DIC Functions

FUEL USED, or AVG SPEED trip
computer mode by pressing and holding
this button for three seconds while you
are in the mode you wish to reset.
A chime will sound to confirm that your
