When you tune to an RDS station, the
station name and call letters will appear
on the display instead of the frequency.
RDS stations may also provide the time
of day, a program type (PTY) for current
programming and the name of the pro-
gram being broadcast.
RDS Messages
When using RDS, the following mes-
sages may appear on your vehicle's
audio system display:
ALERT!: Alert warns of local or national
emergencies. You will hear the
announcement, even if the volume is
muted or a cassette tape is playing. You
will not be able to turn off Alert
announcements.
INFO (Information): If the current station
has a message, press this button to
view the message.
TRAF (Traffic): Press this button to
receive traffic announcements. TRAF
will appear on the display. When a
traffic announcement comes on, you
will hear it.

XM Satellite Radio

On equipped radios, two additional lis-
tening bands are available: XM1 and
XM2. To access these bands, press the
BAND button until XM1 or XM2 appears
on the display.
XM Satellite Radio offers 121 channels
of digital quality sound that goes wher-
ever you go — coast to coast. XM dis-
plays song title, artist and entertainment
genre.
Activation fee and service subscription
are extra. Available only in the U.S. 48
contiguous states.

Setting the Clock

Press and hold HR or MN button for two
seconds (the clock symbol will appear
on the display in time-set mode). Then
press and hold the HR button until the
correct hour appears on the display. AM
or PM will appear on the display. Press
and hold the MN button until the correct
minute appears on the display. The
clock may be set with the ignition on or
off. The clock symbol will appear in the
display in the time-set mode.

Seat Adjustments

6-Way Power Seats (if equipped)
Impala's six-way power seat controls are
located on the outboard side of the driv-
er and front passenger's seat, near the
front of the seat cushion.
• Move the seat forward or rearward by
sliding the control to the front or rear.
• Raise or lower the seats by sliding
the control up or down.
