PILOT FLAME
MANIFOLD

Care must be taken when removing pilot burner in order not
to damage pilot gas line or hot surface ignitor.
f. After securing manifold assembly, replace all other com-
ponents and/or wiring making sure that all connections and
screws are tightened properly.

SET TEMPERATURE RISE

The furnace must not be operated outside the range of temperature
rise specified on unit rating plate. Determine air temperature rise as
follows:
a. Place thermometers in return and supply ducts as near
furnace as possible. Be sure thermometers do not "see" heat
exchanger so that radiant heat does not affect readings. This
practice is particularly important with straight-run ducts.
b. When thermometer readings stabilize, subtract return-air
temperature from supply-air temperature to determine air
temperature rise.
c. Adjust temperature rise by adjusting blower speed. Increase
blower speed to reduce temperature rise. Decrease blower
speed to increase temperature rise.
Disconnect the electrical power before changing the speed
tap. Failure to follow this warning could result in personal
injury.
d. To change motor speed taps, remove the motor tap lead and
relocate it on the desired terminal on the plug in terminal
block/speed selector located at the blower motor. (See
Table 8.)

Recheck the temperature rise. It must be within limits
specified on the unit rating plate. Recommended operation is
at midpoint of rise or above.

SET BLOWER OFF DELAY

The blower off delay may be adjusted for a 60- (factory setting),
90-, 120-, or 150-sec delay. Set the DIP switches on the control
board to obtain desired time delay. (See Fig. 17.)

SET THERMOSTAT HEAT ANTICIPATOR

The thermostat heat anticipator must be set to match the amp draw
of components in the R to W circuit. Accurate amp draw
measurements can be obtained at thermostat subbase terminals R
and W.
Fig. 18 illustrates an easy method of obtaining these measure-
ments. The amp reading should be taken after blower motor has
started. See thermostat manufacturer's instructions for adjusting
heat anticipator and for varying heating cycle length.
