5.6 Virus Scan
The ETERNUS DX provides a virus scan function that protects data from computer viruses by linking with
Trend Micro Inc.'s anti-virus software.
Unlike the batch method, the virus scan function performs real time scanning as files are accessed. When
files that include malware such as viruses, worms, and spyware are detected, these files are blocked from
being accessed or removed immediately. Therefore, virus threats can be prevented.
A server is required to perform virus scanning. Performance degradation can be reduced by performing virus
scanning with multiple servers.
