SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS - Read before operating equipment
This product was designed and manufactured to meet strict quality and
safety standards. There are, however, some installation and operation
precautions which you should be particularly aware of.
1.
ReadInstructions - All the safetyandoperating i nstructions should
bereadbefore theappliance i s operated.
2.
RetainInstructions - Thesafetyand operating i nstructions s hould
be retained for future reference.
3.
HeedWarnings - All warningson the appliance andin the operating
instructionsshouldbe adhered to.
4.
FollowInstructions - All operatingand use instructionsshould be
followed.
5.
WaterandMoisture- Tl_eappliance shouldnot be usednearwater
- for example,near a bathtub,washbowl, k itchensink, laundrytub,
in a wet basement o r neara swimmingpool,etc.

CartsandStands - Theappliance s houldbe usedonlywitha cart or
standthatisrecommended bythemanufacturer.

An appliance and cartcombination s hould be moved
with care. Quickstops,excessive force,and uneven
surfaces maycause theappliance a ndcart combination
to overturn.
7.
Wall or CeilingMounting - Theapplianceshouldbe mountedto a
wallor ceiling onlyas recommended b ythe manufacturer.
8.
Ventilation - Theappliance shouldbesituatedso that its locationor
positiondoesnot interferewith its properventilation.For example,
the applianceshould not be situatedon a bed,sofa, rug, or similar
surface that may block the ventilation openings; or, placed in a
built-ininstallation,such as a bookcase or cabinetthat may impede
the flow of air throughthe ventilation openings.
9.
Heat- Theapplianceshould be situatedawayfrom hear sources
such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances
(includingamplifiers)that produceheat.
10. Power Sources- The applianceshould be connectedto a power
supplyonly of the type described in the operatinginstructionsor as
markedon theappliance.
11. Power-Cord Protection - Powersupply cordsshould be routedso
thattheyare notlikelyto be walked on or pinched by itemsplaced
upon or againstthem, payingparticular attention to cordsand
plugs, convenience receptacles, andthepointwhere theyexitfrom
theappliance.
12. Cleaning - Theapplianceshould be cleanedonlyas recommended
bythe manufacturer.
13. PowerLines - An outdoor antennashould be located awayfrom
powerlines.
14. Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If anoutside antennais connected to
the receiver, b e sure the antennasystem is grounded so as to
provide some protection a gainst v oltagesurgesandbuilt up static
charges.
Section810 of the NationalElectricCode,ANSI/NFPA No. 70-1984,
providesinformationwith respectto proper groundingof the mats
and supporting structure grounding of the lead-in wire to an
antennadischargeunit, size of grounding connectors,locationof
antenna-discharge unit, connectionto grounding electrodesand
requirements f or the groundingelectrode.SeeFig.below.
15. Non-use Periods - The power cord of the applianceshould be
unpluggedfrom the outlet when left unusedfor a long period of
time.
18. Objectand Liquid Entry- Careshould be takenso thatobjects do
not fall and liquidsare not spilledinto the enclosurethrough
openings.
17. DamageRequiring Service- Theappliance s hould beservicedby
qualifiedservicepersonnel w hen:
A. Thepower supply cordor theplughasbeendamaged; or
B. Objectshave fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the
appliance; or
C. Theappliance h asbeenexposed t o rain;or
D. Theappliance d oesnotappear to operate normallyor exhibits
a marked change inperformance; o r
E. Theappliance hasbeendropped, or theenclosure d amaged.
18. Servicing - The usershouldnot attempt t o servicetheappliance
beyond that describedin the operatinginstructions. A ll other
servicingshouldbereferred to qualifiedservicepersonnel.
Notetothe CATV sysleminstaller:Thisreminder i s providedto call the
CATVsysteminstaller's attentionto Article820-40 of the NEC that
providesguidelines for propergrounding a nd,in particular,specifies t hat
the cableground shallbe connected to the grounding systemof the
building,as close tothepointofcable entryaspractical.
