Call a Number in a Text Message
While viewing a text message, you can place a call to a number that is in the body of the message.

1. Press
and tap
2. Open the message with the phone number and then tap the phone number.
Tip: You can also call the number from which you received a text or MMS message. Tap the name
at the top of the conversation and then tap a phone number. Depending on your motion settings, you
may also be able to place a call simply by lifting the phone to your ear. See Motion Settings for
details.
3. Tap Call to dial the number.
Call a Number in an Email Message
While viewing an email or Gmail message, you can place a call to a number that is in the body of the
message.
1. Press
and tap
2. Open the message with the phone number and then tap the phone number.
3. The Phone screen then opens, with the phone number automatically filled in and ready to be
dialed. To place the call, tap
Call Emergency Numbers
You can place calls to 911 even if the phone's screen is locked or your account is restricted.
To call the 911 emergency number when the phone's screen is locked with a screen lock:
1. Tap Emergency call at the bottom of the lock screen.
2. Tap
