Sponge Cake
Ingredients:
150g
Caster sugar
150g
Soft margarine

Eggs (beaten)

Self raising flour
2 level tsp Baking powder
To Serve:
Jam
Buttercream

Ingredients:
100g
Soft margarine
200g
Icing sugar

Method:

Preheat the oven to 170
2 x 8" sandwich tins.

Place all the ingredients into the Mixing Bowl. Attach the
Bowl Cover and Beater to the Head Unit.

Set the Mixer to Cake Program 1 and press the Start/Pause
Button.

The Stand Mixer will run for 1½ minutes before pausing.

Using a spatula, scrape the sides of the Mixing Bowl down before
pressing the Start/Pause Button again to continue the program.
The Stand Mixer will run for a further 1 minute.

Divide the mixture between the two tins and bake for 25-30 minutes
or until golden and springy to the touch.

Allow to cool in the tins for a few minutes before transferring to wire
racks to cool completely.
Method:

Place the ingredients into the Mixing Bowl. Attach the Bowl Cover
and Beater to the Head Unit.

Set the Mixer to Cake Program 2 and press the
Start/Pause Button.

The Stand Mixer will run for 1½ minutes before pausing.

Using a spatula, scrape the sides of the Mixing Bowl down before
pressing the Start/Pause Button again to continue the program.
The Stand Mixer will run for a further 1½ minutes.

Use the buttercream to fill the sponge cake above.
