Refer to the chart below when this unit does not function properly. If the
problem
you are experiencing is not listed
below or if the instruction below does not help, set this unit to the standby mode, disconnect the power cord, and
contact the nearest authorized YAMAHA dealer or service center.
II General
Problem
This unit fails to turn
on when STANDBY/
ON (or POWER) is
pressed, or enters in
the standby mode
soon after the power
has been turned on.
No sound.
Cause
The power cord is not conncctcd or the
plug is not complctcly inserted.
The IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch
on the rear panel is not fully bet to cithcr
the left or right position.
The protection circuitry has hecn
activated.
This unit has been cxposcd to a strong
cxternul electric shock (such as lightning
and strong static clcctricity).
Incorrect input or output cable
connections.
An appropriate input source has not been
.selcctcd.
The spenkcr connections arc not secure
The volume is tunied down.
The sound is muted.
Digital signnls which this unit cnnnot
reproduce arc being input to this unit by
playing a CD-ROM. etc.
Remedy
Firmly connect the power cord.
Set the switch fully to the left or right position when
this unit is in the standby mode.
Make burc all speaker wire connections on this unit
and on all speakers arc secure and that the wire fol
each connection dots not touch anything other than
its respective connection.
Set this unit in the standby mode, disconnect the
power cord, plug it back in after 30 seconds. then
start operating.
Connect the cables properly. If' the problem persists.
the cables muy be dcfcc~ivc.
Select nn appropriate input source with 1NPUT
U/D
or hCH INPUT (or the input sclcctor bultons).
Secure the connections.
Turn up the volume.
Press MUTE or any operalion buttons of this unit to
cancel a mute and adjust the volume.
Ploy a source whose signals this unit can rcproducc.
