INSTALL VENT COMPONENTS

1. Attach the first piece of vent piping (elbows or straight pipe)
vert vent w elbows
to the pipe connector located above the fireplace. Secure
first section of pipe to damper collar with three (3) screws.
2. Continue to add vent components. Be certain that each
section is locked properly.
3. Where necessary, add support brackets. Figure 9. Incline
runs must be supported every 3'. Vertical runs must be sup-
ported every 8', using wall straps. Slip wall straps loosely
on to pipe. Attach straps to framing members using nails or
screws. Tighten nut/bolt to secure pipe.
Always maintain minimum clearances
around vent systems. The minimum
clearances to combustibles is 1" around
vent pipe. For ceiling firestops and verti-
cal sections of vent pipe a 1" minimum
clearance all around the pipe must be
maintained. Do not pack the open air
spaces with insulation or other materials.
This could cause high temperatures and
may present a fire hazard.

condition:
A + B < 40' Maximum
A + B > 14' Minimum

When using adjustable elbows, never
exceed 45°.
