  • Page 21: Caching Write Data

Cheetah 4LP FC Product Manual, Rev. A The drive keeps track of the logical block addresses of the data stored in each segment of the cache. If the cache is enabled (see RCD bit in the Fibre Channel Interface Manual ), data requested by the host with a read command is retrieved from the cache, if possible, before any disc access is initiated.
  • Page 22 Cheetah 4LP FC Product Manual, Rev. A If the number of write data logical blocks exceeds the size of the segment being written into when the end of the segment is reached, the data is written into the beginning of the same cache segment, overwriting the data that was written there at the beginning of the operation.

  • Page 28: Conducted Noise Immunity

Cheetah 4LP FC Product Manual, Rev. A 6.2.1 Conducted noise immunity Noise is specified as a periodic and random distribution of frequencies covering a band from DC to 10 MHz. Maximum allowed noise values given below are peak-to-peak measurements and apply at the drive power connector.
  • Page 29: Temperature

Non-operating temperature should remain between –40°F to 158°F (–40°C to 70°C) package ambient with a maximum gradient of 36°F (20°C) per hour. This assumes that the drive is packaged in the shipping con- tainer designed by Seagate. 6.4.2 Relative humidity The values below assume that no condensation on the drive occurs.
  • Page 30: Vibration

The drive as packaged in a single or multiple drive pack of gross weight 20 pounds (8.95 kg) or less by Seagate for general freight shipment will withstand a drop test from 48 inches (1,070 mm) against a con- crete floor or equivalent.

  • Page 33: Defect And Error Management

Cheetah 4LP FC Product Manual, Rev. A Defect and error management The drive, as delivered, complies with this product manual. The read error rates and specified storage capaci- ties are not dependent upon use of defect management routines by the host (initiator). Defect and error management in the SCSI protocol involves the drive internal defect/error management and FC-AL system error considerations (errors in communications between the initiator and the drive).
