J. CARE AND CLEANING OF THE DEHUMIDIFIER
Turn the dehumidifier off and remove the plug from wall outlet before cleaning.
Clean the grille and case
Use water and a mild detergent. Do not use
bleach or abrasives.
Do not splash water directly onto the unit,
doing so may cause an electrical shock or
damage the appliance.
The air intake and outlet grilles become
dusty easily, clean with a vacuum & brush
attachment.
Clean the water tank
Every few weeks clean the bucket with hot water
and use a mild detergent to prevent growth of
mold, mildew and bacteria. Partially fill the
bucket with clean water and add mild detergent.
Clean the bucket empty and rinse.
Note: Do not use a dishwasher to clean the
bucket. After cleaning the bucket should be
replaced securely for the dehumidifier to operate.
Cleaning the air filter
The air filter should be checked and cleaned
every 30 days or more often if necessary.
To remove air filter pull the bucket out as shown
in Fig. A. Grasp the bottom of the filter and pull
downwards see Fig. B.
Clean the nylon filter with warm, soapy water,
rinse and let filter fully dry before replacing. To
replace insert the filter in the slot in-between the
coils and the front grille, push up until it fits
securely. See Fig.C
Note: Do not clean the air filter in a dishwasher.
Do not wash the optional filter (HEPA or Carbon)
Caution: Do not operate the unit without the
nylon air filter because dirt and lint will enter and
reduce unit's performance.
