Solution
Change to next lower power level load strip
Check base material – center punch test
Use longer pin or washer pin
Firmly depress tool before firing
Properly clean tool
Replace damaged parts*
Repair or replace fastener guide
Tighten receiver plug
Follow safety procedure in manual
See "Strip load will not advance" below
Clean tool and remove excess
carbon built up in barrel
Inspect rubber returner for damage
and replace if necessary
Replace or repair worn parts*
Replace damaged part
Completely clean the tool
Replace damaged returner with
a new returner
Replace piston
Tag the tool "Defective – Do not use".
Place the tool in a locked container, and
contact your local Simpson Strong-Tie
®

Remove piston, fastener guide and remove
debris
Check proper installation of strip
Remove barrel then reinstall barrel to
reset the strip advance lever

representative. Tag the tool and lock it in a
container

against work surface
First remove powder strip load from tool
Thoroughly clean the tool and magazine
First remove powder strip load from tool
Replace the rubber returner
First remove powder strip load from tool!
Inspect magazine and fastener guide for stray
pins and remove the stray pin
