Periodic Maintenance

To maintain optimum print quality, as well as adjusting
the print head and so on, you also need to clean and
replace parts periodically.
If maintenance is not performed, the printer's service
life may be reduced, or you may be liable for the cost of
any repairs.

Frequency

Shaking ink cartridges
One of the characteristics of the ink (especially White
ink) used by the printer is that sedimentation occurs
easily. If you use ink with a sediment, the print quality
may decline and a printer malfunction may occur. To
maintain quality, the ink cartridges need to be shaken
periodically.
White
At the start of every working day or
every 20 hours (when a message is
displayed)
Color
Once a month
* A message reminding you to shake the ink cartridge is
displayed at the following times.
- When the printer is turned on after it has been off for 20
hours or more.
- When the x button is pressed after the printer has been on
for 20 hours.

Tube Washing
Because sedimentation occurs easily in White ink, the
whiteness may decline or become uneven if you
continue printing in white. For the best results, wash the
tube periodically. A message is displayed on the control
panel when the White ink tube needs washing.
