Remove the Starter Assembly (Figure 13 8)
STEP 1. Rem ove the tour starter assem bly
mou nting screws, noting [he orie ntation 01
the cha in brake suppor arm and melal
spacer.
STEP 2. Uf! out th e lack plastic alr baffle ,
and ex po se lhe ign ilion coil and cylin der
lins.
Remove the Flywheel and Ignition
STE P 1. Inse rt an appropnate pistan stop In
Ihe spark pi 9 hole , and then use a 14 mm
wrench to remove the fl ywheel out in a
co unter-clockv ¡se rotalion (Figure 13.9)
STE P
2. Remove lhe blac k plastlc inne r bar le
pl ate.
STEP 3. Use Shindaiwa puller p/n 22 150­
96101 to remove tlle fl ywheel assembly
lrom the cra nkshaft (Figure 13.10)
STEP 4. Un lug the switch wire trom the top
01 the ignl tion coil , remove the two 4 mm x
20 mm coil mou nting screws, and Ihen
remove the
C O II.
When remov ing the Ignition
coil, note Ihe use and orienlalion 01 the two
brown insulators separallng the coil from
the cylinde .
IMPORTANT!
To remove the coi l withoul removing the
powerhead , remove the spark plug bool
from the hl gh-tension lead
