  • Page 10 First-time Operation Slide the battery pack inward until it is firmly in place. CAUTION Be sure the battery pack is properly connected to the connector. The cover is closed by inserting the hook at the right end (see illustration) into the groove.

  • Page 12 First-time Operation In preparation for trouble When the computer fails to work properly or system files on the hard disk are deleted, the computer can be returned to factory condition by performing the "Reinstallation" procedure. Important: To perform the "Reinstallation" procedure ( page21), it is necessary to create a backup disk prior to any trouble.

    Touch Pad (Basic Operation) Use the touch pad to move the cursor on the display and perform normal computer operations. Work Surface For instructions on how to operate, refer to "Touch Pad (Advanced)". NOTE The touch pad has been designed to work only when a finger is used. Therefore, do not use any implement on the touch pad.

    When the CPU temperature rises, the computer may not power on to prevent the CPU from overheating. Should this happen, allow the computer to cool down then switch the power on again.
