BAtterY: troubleshooting
Starting the vehicle using the
battery from another vehicle
(continued)
Ensure that there is no risk of contact
between the two vehicles (risk of short
circuiting when the positive terminals
are connected) and that the discharged
battery is properly connected. Switch
off your vehicle ignition.
Start the engine of the vehicle supply-
ing the current and run it at an interme-
diate engine speed.
Leads A and B must only be con-
nected to the terminals indicated.
Check that there is no con-
tact between leads A and B
and that the positive lead A
is not touching any metal
parts on the vehicle supplying the
current.
Risk of injury or damage to the ve-
hicle.

Battery in the engine compartment
Attach positive lead A to mounting 1
attached to (+) terminal 2 then to (+)
terminal 3 of the battery supplying the
current.
Attach the negative lead B to the (–)
terminal 4 of the battery supplying the
current, then to the (–) terminal 5 of the
discharged battery.
Start the engine and as soon as it is running, disconnect leads A and B in the re-
verse order (5 - 4 - 3 - 2 or 6 - 4 - 3 - 9).

Battery in the luggage compartment
(V6 engines)
Use the terminals in the engine com-
partment.
Turn screw 7 one quarter of a turn
clockwise then pull cover 8 upwards
to access the (+) terminal 9. Attach the
positive lead A to the (+) terminal 9
then to the (+) terminal 3 of the battery
supplying the current.
Attach the negative lead B to the (–)
terminal4 of the battery supplying the
current then to the (-) terminal 6.
