Start Windows, and then insert the CD-ROM into the computer’s CD- ROM/DVD drive.

    Installing the TWAIN driver When the Completed Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box ap- pears, click the [Finish] button. This completes the installation of the TWAIN driver. The Found New Hardware Wizard appears again, and the installation of the printer driver begins. Repeat steps 1 through 4 to install the printer driver.

Insert the CD-ROM containing the TWAIN installer into the CD-ROM/ DVD drive of the computer. Open My Computer, and then double-click the icon of the appropriate CD-ROM drive.

    As an example, the procedure using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Profession- al is described below. Click “File”. Point to “Create PDF”, and then click “From Scanner”. Select the device from the dialog box, specify the desired settings, and then click the [Scan] button.

    Driver settings Scan Mode Two settings are available in the “Scan Mode” drop-down list. - Text: Select this setting for normal documents. - Photo: Select this setting for photos. Resolution Three settings are available in the “Resolution” drop-down list. Select the setting appropriate for the desired use.
