    Faxing Faxing General transmission operation This section contains information on the general operation for sending a fax. Note This is a G3 fax machine. Faxes can only be sent or received with this ma- chine if the recipient’s or sender’s machine complies with the G3 stand- ard.

If the “PHOTO” or “S-FINE/PHOTO” setting is selected, the fax may have a decreased image quality, depending on the quality of the recipient’s fax machine or on whether the document size is larger than the paper loaded in the recipient’s fax machine.

    Faxing Operations while scanning documents If the memory becomes full If the memory becomes full while documents are being scanned when queu- ing a transmission (specifying a fax transmission while another fax transmis- sion job is being performed) or for a timer transmission, a message appears, allowing you to select whether to send the scanned pages or cancel the transmission.

    Faxing If the fax cannot be sent While faxing, if the recipient’s fax machine is busy or does not answer or if, for any other reason, such as due to a transmission error, the fax is not sent correctly, this machine automatically redials the fax number. The document to be sent is treated as a queued fax waiting for redialing until the fax number is redialed.
