Controller

The magicolor 2430 DL uses the power of the
host computer's operating system to deliver great
performance for less cost.
The magicolor 2430 DL's USB 2.0
(High-Speed) and 10/100BaseTX Ethernet
(IEEE 802.3) interfaces allow it to serve one
or many users.

Type

The magicolor 2430 DL uses an easy-to-access controller with 32 MB
SDRAM on board.

Processor

The magicolor 2430 DL uses the power of the host computer's
operating system for processing documents prior to printing. The
printer's controller features a ARM9 130 MHz ASIC for imaging the
document.

Connectivity

Three interfaces are integrated into the magicolor 2430 DL's controller:
The USB 2.0 (High-Speed) compliant interface provides a 4-pin
Series B connector and runs at 480 Mbps. This "Plug and Play"
interface supports Windows Server 2003, XP, 2000, Me, and
98SE; Macintosh OS X 10.2+; and Linux Red Hat 8.0+ and SuSE
8.1+ operating systems.
The Ethernet 10/100BaseTX autosensing interface operates on
both the traditional 10 Mbps LAN and 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet
networks, and it supports TCP/IP, IPP, DHCP, BOOTP, HTTP,
SNMP, SLP, LPR, Rendezvous, and Raw Port protocols.
The USB 1.1 Host Port, conveniently located on the front of the
printer, features PictBridge 1.0 compatibility for quick photo prints.

Printer Memory

The magicolor 2430 DL's 32 MB RAM is sufficient for printing all
supported page sizes (simplex and duplex) at all supported resolutions.
One DIMM slot is available for upgrading printer memory up to 544 MB.
Additional memory can improve the printer's performance, especially in
a network environment. Increasing the host computer's memory may
also improve transmission speed and overall performance of the printer.
For full functionality and best quality camera-direct photo printing
(PictBridge), an additional 256 MB RAM is required. Standard printer
memory does not support high-resolution or index prints from
PictBridge.
