Disconnecting the camera

Never disconnect the camera when the access lamp is red - the data or memory
card may permanently be damaged.
Windows 98 / 98 Second Edition
Confirm that the access lamp is not lit. Turn off the camera and then disconnect the USB cable. If
Kodak EasyShare is installed, right click on the EasyShare icon on the task bar and quit the applica-
tion before disconnecting the camera.
Windows Me, 2000 Professional, and XP
To disconnect the camera, click once on the unplug-or-eject-hardware icon located on
the task bar. A small window opens indicating the device to be stopped.
Click on the small window to stop the device; the safe-to-remove-hardware message appears.
Disconnect the USB cable.

Data-transfer mode
When more than one external device is connected to the comput-
er, repeat the procedure above except right click on the unplug-or-
eject-hardware icon to open the unplug-or-eject-hardware window.
The hardware devices connected to the system are displayed.
Click the display-device-components check box. Highlight the
device to be stopped by clicking on it then click "Stop."
A confirmation screen appears to indicate the devices to be
stopped. Clicking "OK" stops the device.
The safe-to-remove-hardware message appears. Disconnect the
USB cable.
Macintosh
Confirm that the access lamp is not lit and then drag the mass-
storage device icon and drop it into the trash. Turn the camera off,
and then disconnect the USB cable.
