Installing the Printer Driver on the NT Server Using AppleTalk
Services
This section explains how to install the printer driver on the NT server. Steps
include creating a printer on the NT server, installing the PostScript Level 2
Printer Driver, and attaching to the printer.
To install the printer driver:
1. From the Program Manager window, open the Print manager.
2. Choose Create Printer from the Printer menu. The Create Printer dialog
box appears.
3. Enter a name for the printer.This name should be different from the name
of the printer itself. By default, the printer is named "IBMnetcolor", but you
may have changed this name when you configured the printer. The name
you choose now will be the name that appears in the NT server's Printer
window.
You have completed the steps for installing the printer driver on the server.

To Install the PostScript Level 2 Printer Driver:
1. From the driver pop-up menu, select Other. Windows NT prompts you to
locate the printer driver.
2. Insert the Customer CD-ROM or the IBM Windows Driver diskette.
• If you are using the Customer CD-ROM , open the directory that
corresponds to the language you wish to use, the WINNT directory,
and then the DRIVERS subdirectory. Click on the OK button.
The DRIVERS subdirectory includes a printer configuration file and
the printer PPD file.
• If you are using diskettes, insert the Windows Drivers diskette. Click
on the OK button.
3. During driver installation, select IBM Network Color Printer. Click on the
OK button.
4. When installation is complete, the driver name appears on the Driver
menu of the Create Printer dialog box. The printer driver is installed and
configured with the printer PPD.
