v Each FRU is available for all types or models, unless
specific types or models are given.
v The parts that are CRUs (customer replaceable units)
are identified by an N, 1 or 2 in the CR id column. The
N indicates the part is not a CRU. The 1 indicates the
part is a Tier 1 CRU and the 2 indicates the part is a
Tier 2 CRU.
Tier 1 CRU
(Example – mouse, external keyboard, hard disk drive
with coin screw)
– NO TOOLS REQUIRED
– Coin, thumb screws acceptable
– Minimal technical expertise required
– Minimal problem determination (less than 5 minutes)
Tier 2 CRU
(Example – adapter card, some server and CDT,
ThinkPad memory)
– Some screw/fastener removals (max. 4)
– Some technical experience required
– HelpCenter assistance may be used
– Problem determination can be done by customer
either on site or with HelpCenter assistance
