Using Your KitchenAid
Before using your toaster, check the
Extra-Wide, Extra-Long Slots and
remove any packing or printed
material that may have fallen inside
during shipping or handling. Do not
probe inside the toaster with a metal
object.
You may see light smoke the first
time you use the toaster. This is
normal. The smoke is harmless and
will soon disappear.

1. Shorten cord, if necessary, by
wrapping cord under the base.
2. Plug toaster cord into electrical
outlet. Digital display will default
to a shade level of 5.
Sleep Mode: If the toaster isn't
used for 30 seconds, it will cycle
into "sleep mode" and the digital
display will shut off to conserve
energy. Turning the Shade Control,
pressing a function button, or
lowering the Easy Lift™ lever will
instantly wake-up the toaster.
When the toaster is in "sleep
mode", turning the Shade Control
a single "click" or detent will
wake-up the toaster, but not alter
the previously set shade level.
